Our Team
Kate
Hello! I have been working as a Speech & Language Therapist for over six years, during which I have gained experience within the NHS across various specialties focusing on children. In 2022, I chose to transition into fully independent practice. This allows me to provide a tailored service to families and children, without limitations of referral criteria and extended waiting times. Currently, I support children with a wide range of communication needs, including Autism, developmental language delays, speech sound delays, and dysfluency. I prioritise a person-centered and family-centered approach in both assessment and therapeutic interventions. I am dedicated to collaborating with early year’s settings, schools, and other healthcare professionals to help children and young people, develop into confident communicators.
I am an active member of the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice (ASLTIP) and Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT). I am also registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as well as having an enhanced DBS certificate.
I am committed to continuous professional development and have completed postgraduate training in PECS, Makaton, parent-child interaction therapy, SCERTS, Lidcombe and Michael Palin Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (specifically for dysfluency). This experience enables me to provide tailored support to meet the unique needs of each child and their family. I welcome any enquiries for a friendly and confidential discussion. **Please be advised that I no longer provide PECS’s therapy, as it does not align with neurodiversity-affirming practice **
Yen
We are excited to introduce Yen, our adorable chocolate Labrador puppy, who is currently in training to become a therapy dog! With her warm, loving nature and wagging tail, Yen is all set to bring joy and comfort to our speech therapy sessions.
Although, she is still learning the ropes, Yen has already shown an amazing ability to connect with people. Her playful spirit and gentle demeanor make her the perfect companion for our clients as they embark on their communication journeys.
Yen loves to play fetch, enjoys long belly rubs, and has a special talent for brightening anyone’s day with her puppy smiles. We can’t wait for you to meet her and experience the positive energy she brings to our team!
Stay tuned for updates on Yen’s training progress, and get ready for some fun interactions in our upcoming sessions!
